Northern Prosthetics is happy to announce that we are the only facility north of Bangor certified in providing C-leg technology to the patients of northern Maine!  In recent months, staff prosthetist Cory Laplante attended a continuing education course to become certified in the fabrication and fitting of microprocessor knee units specifically the C-leg by OttoBock. This was an extensive training course in proper fabrication, alignment and software (Blue Tooth) applications for this state-of-the art prosthesis. This technology allows a small microprocessor within the knee unit to measure the patient's gait fifty times per second. Northern Prosthetics was established in 2007 by Aroostook County native Cory Laplante.  The vision of Northern Prosthetics is to provide the best quality prosthetic/orthotic care in the state.  Because quality of care and patient satisfaction are our priorities, we develop a rehabilitation team consisting of the prescribing physician, prosthetist/orthotist, physical therapist, and most importantly, the patient.  In order to ensure the best functional outcome for our patients, we incorporate the expertise of all clinicians while addressing the concerns and opinions of the patient, treating not just the deficiency or dysfunction, but the patient as a whole.  It is our hope that anyone in need of prosthetic or orthotic services, or any of the vast orthopedic appliances that we provide here at Northern Prosthetics, would consider our services not only for the convenience, but for the overall experience.

Northern Prosthetics became incorporated in 2007 and opened its doors on North Street in Presque Isle with one owner/provider, Cory Laplante, CP.  Since the opening of Northern Prosthetics, the volume of patients has increased dramatically, necessitating a larger facility. Our new facility is currently under construction and will triple the square footage of our current facility.  As the need for additional space became apparent, so did the need for additional staff, and in addition to Cory Laplante, CP, Northern Prosthetics now employs Bryan Rammell, CO; Andrew Cole, Technician; Daniel MacFarline, IT Specialist; and Laura MacFarline, Office Manager.  Though our location will be changing, our commitment to our patients remains.  One of the primary goals of the staff at Northern Prosthetics is to ensure that patient satisfaction is achieved, and we make it a priority to respond to our patients compassionately and to deliver products and services in a timely manner.
